GEOcaching: Terms, conditions & useful information
ImageBelow is the customer copy of the terms, conditions and information customers receive when they hire a GPS unit from Climb8.

Data Protection Policy:
The personal information you supplied will only be used for the purposes of statistical analysis or in the event that you breach the hire agreement. It will not be used for any other purposes.
Unless you choose to give us your email address – therefore opting into our emailing list.

You receive:

  • Hand-held GPS and had the opportunity to comment on its condition
  • Batteries
  • ‘How to Use a Treasure Tracker’ instructions
  • Copy of Terms, Conditions & Useful Information

What Climb8 will do:

  • Keep a copy of your booking form on our records.
  • Keep with it details of your credit or debit card. This will be returned to the customer on return of the GPS unit. However, in the event of failure to return, or damage to the unit, we reserve the right to use this information to charge £50 to cover costs.

Hire period

  • You were notified of the hire period and when we expected you to return the GPS unit to us.
  • Failure to return the GPS by the agreed time may result in additional charges for each period of lateness or part thereof at the standard rate.

Hirers’ agreement

You signed the following:

  • I have taken the opportunity to give any comments on the condition of my GPS unit and agree to and understand that the policy on failure to return / return of damaged GPS units is that I will be charged £50.00.
  • I have received all items stated.
  • I am aware of the hire period and will return the GPS by the stated time, otherwise I agree to additional charges for each period of lateness or part thereof at the standard rate.
  • I have read and understand the safety instructions

Safety information
For your safety and the safety of your party please note -

  • Do not use the GPS when driving a car
  • Always be aware of your surroundings and check for hazards e.g. cars, bicycles, ditches, open water, dog faeces.
  • You should always follow the GPS by taking the obvious path until you are within a short distance of the cache.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing and foot wear as you are likely to leave the main path at some point.
  • Do not approach live stock or unfamiliar dogs.
