Do I Need Any Experience?
No. Many of our guests are having their first adventure activity experience. Guides and instructors are specialised in client care and will do their best to make your first rock climbing experience fun and exciting.
Is Equipment provided?
Yes, all specialist safety equipment is included in the price!
This includes , harness and helmet, wetsuit hire is included in the price where required. Other items of kit that you should have are detailed on the kitlist page of the site here Where you decide to stay in the evening is up to you. Camping is available, as are hotels and bed & breakfasts. For camping information, directions, etc, click on "Accommodation index page."
What If The Weather Turns Bad?
We will determine on each morning of the day or course if it will be canceled due to inclement weather (extreme cold, rain, or snow). If it is canceled, you may transfer to another course date, or if this is inconvenient, we will refund any amounts paid toward the course cost. However, there are no refunds once the day has begun. We are highly experienced guides and instructors and are determined to mak the most of prevailing conditions and will do everything we can to make each day happen.
So please arrive prepared for both warm and cold weather, you will be in the mountains. What qualifications do the guides and instructors hold
All our guides and instructors hold an appropriate recognised qualification to match the activities which they lead and they also hold a current first aid certificate.
Ian McNeill ensures that all guides, leaders and instructors are selected for their professionalism, friendliness and fun, sympathetic approach to leadership, knowledge of Snowdonia and a special empathy with the outdoors.
How Far In Advance Must I Make My booking?
We prefer that you sign up at least 14 days in advance of the trip date. Please feel free to call us if you decide to join within the 14-day period, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
A completed booking form and payment either a deposit if booking well in advance or full payment if less than 14 days are required to hold a space. Please call or e-mail for more information. Upon receiving your payment and reservation form, we will e-mail you a confirmation letter confirming your course name, course date(s) and meeting location.
What Sort Of Physical Condition Must I Be In?
Our courses and adventure days depends mostly on a combination of aerobic fitness, upper and lower body strength and balance.
Our past clients have ranged anywhere from 7 to 72 years of age. While 10 is now the minimum age for attending our courses, Private Guiding and the Rock Adventure Experience are available for younger people than 10 as a part of a family group.
Do I need to be insured to take part in any of the courses?
We strongly recommend you take out insurance against cancellation and curtailment of your course and accident and personal injury.

What Is Our Cancellation Policy?
There is a 20% handling fee if we receive notice of cancellation or reschedule/ transfer more than 21 days in advance of the scheduled course dates.
If you cancel or want to reschedule/ transfer on day 20 or less in advance for any reason, there are no refunds. There are no exceptions. Participants who don't show up for day/ course forfeit the full cost of the trip. In the event of inclement weather, the guide/ instructor will determine the morning of the event/ adventure as to continue or reschedule the day. If the guide/ insturctor cancells the day you may reschedule or request a full refund. Once the day begins there are no refunds. This is the official cancellation policy.
How fit do I need to be?
All of our courses assume a certain level of fitness. As a general rule the fitter you are the more you will get out of your course. Our more advanced courses are particularly demanding and consequently require higher levels of fitness. We reserve the right to curtail participation in (rare) extreme cases we may ask you to withdraw from activities if we feel your lack of fitness is causing excessive difficulties for you or other course members.
Will I get wet?
If you are on a coasteering course then you will get wet and be immersed in water. If you head into the hills or go rock climbing you may also experience rain. You will however be given access to appropriate specialist equipment that will mean this is not an uncomfortable or unpleasant experience, should it happen.
Are all the courses safe?
Outdoor activities by their nature contain elements of risk. Ian McNeill prides himself on being able to offer you an adventurous experience delivered by some of the most experienced and highly qualified instructors and coaches in the country. Ian will be more than happy to discuss safety guidelines with you to help you develop your awareness for the future.
Will they be time to take photographs
Of course. We always realise that it is your holiday and not an endurance test. Also we always try to ensure that groups or pairs are made of individuals of a similar fitness and experience.
What will the weather be like?
Wales has the usual changeable Maritime climate dominated by the warm and wet South Westerly winds. Mountains make weather. We do have rain - otherwise known as liquid sunshine! You should expect any weather from scorching hot to cold, wet and windy. Come prepared!

Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, all major credit cards are accepted, except Amex, as well as cheques. We do not make bookings over the phone as we must receive a signed booking form, but you can book online using your credit card.
Am I entitled to a discount?
If 4 or more people book on a course date advertised in our website you are entitled to a 10% discount on certain courses,ONLY if we receive all the paperwork at the same time.
